There’s an old Meat Loaf song that contains the lyrics…
”But there aint no Coupe De Ville hiding at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box!”

That’s right Meat, what actually lurks at the bottom of the Cracker Jack box is a Nobel Peace Prize! Soon we’ll all have one!

In a move reminiscent of an episode of the Twilight Zone, five nutty Norwegians have seen fit to award neophyte President Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize! Precisely what for is anyone’s guess, as we don’t yet know how bad or how good Obama will turn out to be – he hasn’t done anything yet, so why the prize?

The Nobel Peace Prize is supposed to be awarded…
“to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”

Yet In recent years we have seen decisions that have nothing to do with achieving peace, and a lot to do with giving left wing ticks of approval.

Muhammad Yunus for example doesn’t seem to fit the bill, having jointly been given the prize…

“for advancing economic and social opportunities for the poor, especially women, through their pioneering microcredit work”

No mention of Peace that I can see, regardless of what other worth his work may or may not have. Then there’s Al Gore who got his box of Cracker Jacks for …

“efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change”

Again no mention of Alfred’s beloved Peace. And now there’s Obama…

“for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

Well, at least it hints at peace efforts, but he hasn’t done anything. A prize is supposed to go to people who actually do, not those who merely intend to do, otherwise it’s like handing Lance Armstrong the prize before he even gets on his bike.

The reaction by so many American liberals has been truly frightening in the way it reveals a split with reality that that would make even Orwell puke. For example, the reaction at The Huffington Post can best be described as Bacchanalian, with so many commenters acting as if Obama is Gandhi, King and all the Kennedys rolled into one.

American liberals are still waiting for the miracle, apparently. Waiting for the Big Daddy who will lift them up out of their money driven, politically divisive mire and put them up where they belong. It’s not going to happen boys and girls, the dice are loaded from the start of the game and the chances that Obama will be better than Clinton are very slim indeed, about as slim as Obama’s chances of winning a bowling tournament – unless of course the tournament is run by the Nobel Committee.

Barack Obama, having decided that women and girls have it hard in his mean old patriarchy ( what with living longer than males, being murdered four times less often, committing suicide four times less often, going to college more often, getting lighter sentences and fines for the same crime, etc etc ) has come to the conclusion that they need something called the “White House Council on Women and Girls” to ensure that the Important Sex gets even more gravy on their roast beef than they already do now.  According to Obama, the council is meant to…

” establish a coordinated Federal response to issues that particularly impact the lives of women and girls and to ensure that Federal programs and policies address and take into account the distinctive concerns of women and girls…”

Because as we all know, the American Government doesn’t already “take into account the distinctive concerns of women and girls.”

He added in a speech filled with the usual feminist lies…

“when women still earn just 78 cents for every dollar men make”

Needless to say he didn’t point out that most of this difference is due to justifiable factors like longer hours, etc.

” when one in four women still experiences domestic violence in their lifetimes”

Again, he fails to point out that this figure is grossly inflated by a definition of violence that includes for example, shoving, and that when we use such a broad definition, one in four men will also suffer such “violence” in their lifetimes.

“when women are more than half of our population, but just 17 percent of our Congress”

Without pointing out that this is primarily because most of the people with the intellect, drive and intention to achieve these positions are men.  After all, half the population has IQs  below the average of 100, so shouldn’t we do something to get them “equal representation”?  Of course not, at least not until that 50% is composed solely of women and girls – you know, the sex that actually matters.

Along the way he adds this hypocritical gem…

“It’s a Council with a mission that dates back to our founding: to fulfill the promise of our democracy for all our people.”

Except the male ones.  One would think that a man who is half black would have looked around at the fact that it it’s black men who are slaughtered and locked up in huge numbers, not black women, much less white women, and reasoned that perhaps it is his sex that is in need of help. But ideology and reason rarely meet and Obama is clearly no exception. Now let’s get this straight,  I have no ideological objection to the Government helping those who need help, but that’s those who need help, not those who merely want it. Set up a council on Blacks, on the disabled, and yes, on men and boys, but Western women are already afloat in a bubble bath of privilege , and they don’t need any more. I think i’m going to find this guy very disappointing. I guess i bought the idea that someone seen as black would have a better feel for injustices – the real ones not the imagined ones – than a white person does, but alas the only thing Obama has a feel for is political correctness.
